Louis Vuitton Series 2

On a perfectly sunny Friday afternoon with just the right amount of breeze blowing through, a multitude of fashion lovers and curious Los Angeles residents strolled through the maze of showcased accessories, collage of models and runway projections at 1135 Highland Avenue. To many, L.A. style is as breezy as that perfect Friday afternoon but those of us that have been here long enough know that the city is sizzling with potential. As the home of the Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes and Grammy Awards, it may seem a little greedy to want to add fashion capital to that as well but it is a title the city of angels is poised to take on thanks to some recent high profile fashion moves.

When Saint Laurent’s Hedi Slimane moved his creative studio from the chic streets of Paris to the palm tree laden streets of Los Angeles, the fashion world took notice. Fast forward to three years later and the city has not only achieved the major coup of hosting Tom Ford’s Fall 2015 show –right in the heart of Hollywood, Louis Vuitton also chose the city as its first destination for its “Louis Vuitton Series 2 — Past, Present and Future” exhibition.

Not bad for a city who was dumped by Mercedes Benz Fashion Week just a few years ago. Up next,  Couture House, Dior will hold its Cruise runway show in Los Angeles on May 9th. We have no doubt that it’ll be a star studded event.
