When Anna Wintour puts you on the cover of Vogue for the first time, you know you’ve officially arrived. When she puts you on the cover a second time, you’ve obviously made your mark. When it comes to your third cover, you’re definitely here to stay.
Pop princess Rihanna got her Vogue stamp of approval again, scoring the March cover and raising the fashion stakes. Photographed by David Sims, the songstress sported a chic and slightly shaggy pixie with the latest designer offerings from the likes of Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Alexander Wang, Rodarte and Alexander McQueen.
With designers clamoring to dress the star, her influence on fashion itself is evident from the praise she gets from heavy hitters like Tom Ford and Alexander Wang. “She can throw on combinations you can’t imagine other people could possibly wear, and look great. In the fashion world she has inspired a very, very loose mix of random items.” said Ford of the multi-grammy award winner.
As if having Tom Ford adore you isn’t enough, Peter Dundas of Pucci adds that the singer is “a very talented dresser, in the way that Kate Moss is. She’s an amplified version of what a lot of girls want to look like, but she’s always a step ahead of the game.” No doubt the fashion world is smitten and so are we.
