Last year you promised yourself that you would revamp your style. You were inspired to be that stylish woman you always dreamt you could be. You sorted through hundreds of photos on Pinterest, created multiple boards for different seasons and then… nothing. 2014 passed and nothing about your style changed. Yoga wear was Couture and an all black look was the equivalent of dressing up.

Well, the good news is that the new year always brings with it a chance for new beginnings. While you worry about keeping up with your other resolutions, we’ve got you covered on the style end. Below are 5 ways to up your style game this year.

1. Clean House
We believe in starting things off with a clean slate and that includes getting rid of all things that will not add value to your style and wardrobe this year. Those striped shirts that you have in multiple colors? Time to get rid of them. What about the jeans that sag in the butt area or are so tight that they create rolls where you never even thought rolls could exist? Time to toss them.

Even Carrie Bradshaw had to clean her closet every once in a while.

Holding on to things that you don’t need only stops you from creating the space needed to allow great things to come into your wardrobe and your life. We make it a point of duty to sort through our wardrobe and donate usable items to Goodwill once every four months.  Who doesn’t like some extra karmic points?

2. Try Something New
There is no better time to step out of your comfort zone than the beginning of a new year. Your adrenaline is pumping, you have new goals and ambitions and you pretty much feel like there’s nothing you can’t do. If you’re all about structure, why not go for something a little bit more feminine? If your color palette rotates around black and grays, it might be time to spice things up with some reds and blues . This year, we’re jonesing for some Grecian Goddess glamour courtesy of Jennifer Behr’s gorgeous and mouth watering head pieces.

3. Go Big
We love structure. We love fit. We could talk about structure and fit all day long. So when we say go big, we’re not advocating pieces that will drown out your shape. Keeping that disclaimer in mind, what we’re loving about this season’s outerwear is that they are all about making a big statement. Literally and figuratively. And quite frankly, we can’t get enough.

4. Go Bold
The best way to make sure you don’t fall into a winter funk is to infuse your life with some color. We’re talking both your wardrobe pieces and beauty items. Why reach for your go-to gloss when you can stand out in stunning matte red or gorgeous plum?

5. Go Light
What we love most about fashion is that there are no rules. You get to experiment and dance to the beat of your own drum. That being said, we are all about introducing light colors into our winter wardrobe this year. We will be sporting gorgeous pastels like powder pinks, baby blues, heather grays and even white all season long.
