Cinched waists and full skirts are in, so are petit jackets, luxurious tweeds and the original doctor bags. AMC’s Mad Men although set in the 60s, has deep style roots in the 50s. The recent ad campaigns for Louis Vuitton also channel that old Hollywood glamor that Stars like Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn were famous for.
I recently paid homage to this trend with the 50s style dress that I wore to the Macy’s “Glamorama” event. It garnered a lot of compliments and inquires. This style is perfect for special events. Keep it in mind for upcoming holiday parties. You can also add a cardigan and cinch your waist with a skinny belt. It is once again chic to be a “lady.”
