Burberry Prorsum delivered on cut and color. Add some dark tights to this look and you’ll be attracting some serious looks of your own.
Since Designers are pretty much churning out collections right, left and center these days (let’s count, we now have Fall, Spring, Pre-Fall, Resort and Couture), we figured we’d take some inspiration from the latest collections to spice up the winter season. Here are 5 ways to turn up the fashion heat this season, courtesy of the Pre-Fall 2014 showings.
Supersize me…
I’m sure you never thought you’d hear those words in fashion but that’s exactly what designers Antonio Berardi, Christopher Bailey for Burberry and Phillip Lim for 3.1 Phillip Lim went gaga for. Long, boxy and oversized were certainly the ‘mots du jour’.
It pays to be rich…in color…
What is it that they say about color? It enriches, uplifts and the right shade somehow has the power to make one feel like a million bucks? Fine, we usually say that but you catch the drift. Brighten up those dreary winter days with a glorious shade of red or neon yellow, burnt orange or cobalt blue…what ever tickles your fancy.
Layer me up…
Layers make sense in the winter. The trick is making sure you don’t cross over into the bulky territory. That being said, here’s a little lesson on how to achieve the perfection of layering from Max Azria.
The thing about texture…
In addition to stylishly layering up, another way to stay chic while keeping warm is by adding some texture to your look. Whether you’re all about the fur (full on or just a trim), crazy about feathers or obsessed with a shaggy look, nothing is off limits. Let your freak flag fly! Elegantly of course.
Go bold or go home…
It’s a new year, why not try something completely out of the box and your comfort zone. Go ahead and mix those prints, go high end and low end, casual and dressy, wear white if you want. The world is your runway, we’re just the lucky members of the audience who get to take in the show.
