LA Lookbook – Dressing up the sweatshirt
You may have recently noticed an odd trend popping up all over the place –the “dress up sweatshirt.” Of course like all trends, if worn with the right pieces it can turn out beautifully and if not, it could be a disaster. With winter in full swing (because it’s Los Angeles, I use the term “winter” lightly), it’s very easy to want to reach for leggings and sweats all the time. Enter the adorable dress up sweatshirt, offering you comfort and coziness all while looking effortlessly chic. When worn with leather pants and booties, it easily transforms a very casual look into a casual/edgy look.
Pair it with a chic and flirty skirt and you have the perfect lunch/dinner outfit. After coming across a light gray H&M sweatshirt with shoulder zipper details, I decided to test drive this trend and pair it with a black, textured and flared skirt from Zara. Continuing with the play on texture, the look was paired with some spotty animal print tights and finished off with a color blocked black and white bag and military style booties. It was an easy look to pull off and it turns out that the good old sweatshirt has its benefits outside of the gym and movie nights on the couch.
