Shopping for a cause – Divine Design celebrates 20 years

It’s a big year for The Help’s Viola Davis as she receives the 2011 Woman of Style Award from her costar Octavia Spencer at the Divine Design Gala

This past week in fashion events, Los Angeles based charity Project Angel Food celebrated the 20th anniversary of its largest annual fundraiser, Divine Design. Held in Beverly Hills, the shopping extravaganza brought out the big guns in luxury goods and design, featuring an assortment of fashion, beauty, home and gift products from designers like Kay Celine, Brooks Brothers, Barclay Butera, Barbie, Blank Denim, Elizabeth and James, Liz’s Antique Hardware, Trina Turk, Tokidoki, Paul Frank, LA Eyeworks, and Kiehl’s Since 1851 with 100% of the shopping proceeds benefitting Project Angel Food.

Kicking off the event was a gala held at the Beverly Hilton where Oscar nominee Viola Davis was honored with the 2011 Woman of Style Award. Costume Designer Patricia Field, best known for her work on Sex and the City and The Devil Wears Prada, was also honored and given the 2011 Iconic Fashion Visionary Award. Known for his culinary brilliance, Chef, Thomas Keller was recognized as the 2011 Iconic Chef & Restaurateur. Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth closed out the event with a powerful performance, featuring songs from her new CD “Lessons Learned”.
