2011 in style- Michelle Williams in a 50s style dress, Rihanna color blocks, Liv Tyler combines 2 of the year’s biggest trends in a polka dot dress featuring a peplum skirt while Ginnifer Goodwin takes a risk in shocking yellow
2011 was no doubt a very stylish year in fashion. It was filled with trips taken back in time for style inspiration. In just a few seasons, we visited the 50s, 60s, 70s and even the 80s, taking the best from each era. As we moved through the year, we borrowed from the boys and added a feminine twist, relaxed in colored denim, glittered and sparkled in sequins, went edgy in leather and color blocked ensembles; wild in animal print, ethereal in white, ladylike in peplum and full skirts, popped in gorgeous and shocking color; we went crazy for polka dots and floral print, stayed casual cool in stripes and so much more. Take a trip down memory lane with us as we relive this past year’s most stylish and fashionable looks and trends.
Color blocking…
This trend belonged to the risk-takers and this past season, thanks to fashion houses like Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Designers like Sonia Rykiel, we were re-introduced to a really bold alternative. From Rihanna to Olivia Wilde, Jennifer Lopez and Iman, those who dared, rocked this trend to perfection.
